Bas Beenen

Bas Beenen read Dutch law at the University of Utrecht. In his capacity as an attorney-at-law he focuses predominantly on civil law matters pertaining to property. Bas has acquired experience especially in relation to the civil law aspects of transactions involving the purchase and sale of property, as well as in relation to the provision of advice on and the conclusion of contracts for the purposes of project development. In addition, Bas regularly represents clients in civil law and arbitration proceedings. In 2004 Bas completed the post-doctoral Grotius Immovable Property programme of study cum laude. He is a member of the Vereniging van Vastgoed Juristen [Association of Property Lawyers], the Vereniging van Bouwrecht [Association of Building Law] and the Vereniging van Bouwrechtadvocaten [Association of Building Law Lawyers].

Relevant professional experience
various turnkey, purchase, and sale and leaseback projects, in particular, for institutional and fund investors, such as the purchase of various office blocks, shopping centres and distribution centres (from data room to deed of transfer);
the provision of legal advice for the purposes of various residential, retail and office development projects undertaken by institutional investors, housing corporations and project developers;
various plan transfers and structuring of joint ventures in the building industry;
drafting of construction team agreements, contracting agreements, and design and build contracts, etc;
letting and leasing of commercial and retail premises, and residential dwellings.
