Rene Maat
Tax adviser / Partner
René Maat read tax law at the Catholic university of Tilburg. He advises Dutch and foreign clients about aspects of corporation tax, value added tax and property transfer tax in relation to property development and investments.
René has acquired specific experience in relation to the tax aspects of restructuring property companies, investment institutions for tax purposes, and assisting with property transactions of purchase and sale, and, in particular, the structuring of property companies (in relation to acquisitions or otherwise) and limited partnerships specialising in property (including prospect reviews). In addition, René has acquired a great deal of experience in assisting property companies, in relation to tax audits.

tax related assistance in connection with the establishment of property companies and limited partnerships;
advice on value added and property tax in relation to project development and property investments;
the provision of advice, assistance in relation to takeovers, and the sale of property businesses;
assisting with tax audits;
conducting tax-related objection and appeals proceedings.
Publications
René Maat produces publications on tax-related matters involving property tax. Amongst other things, he is the co-author of the Kluwer tax guide entitled Bouw en Fiscus. In addition, he produces a regular column for the magazine, Vastgoedpersonality.
